After getting married in The Bahamas, a couple may obtain a certified copy of their marriage certificate.


Eligibility 

Any person who gets married in The Bahamas.

Process 
  1. Complete an Application for Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate form.
  2. Submit the completed form to the Marriages Section of the Registrar General’s Department.
  3. A search will be made for a record of the marriage.
  4. If found, payment is made and a certified copy is issued.

Note: At this time, this service is only provided in New Providence and Grand Bahama at the Registrar General’s Department.

  • Completed application form.
  • A valid picture ID.

 

Turn-around time 
A certificate can be issued within the same day of application if a record can be found using the computerised database of marriages. If however, a manual search is required, the process may take three to four days.

There are no deadlines for this service.

There is a BS$20.00 fee attached to this service.
