Permits are issued to facilitate the duty free importation of vessels and fishing gear to be used within the commercial fishing sector by businesses or citizens.


Eligibility 

Businesses must be solely owned by Bahamian citizens that are resident within The Bahamas.

Process 
  1. Complete the relevant application form.
  2. Submit completed application form, along with the required supporting documents to the Department of Marine Resources.
  3. The applicant will then be issued with the Certificate of Registration Card or 10% Duty Waiver Form, which should be presented to The Bahamas  Customs at the time of clearance of the goods.

  1. Copy of Bill of Sale.
  2. Copy of a valid business licence.
  3. Proof of payment for vessel ( affidavit, money order, cheque, wire transfer, etc)
Turn-around time 
48 hours if application is complete and all required documents submitted.
